I fully trained in both the facilitative and evaluative approaches to mediation.  I use the approach that best suits the parties, their attorneys and the subject matter of the case.

I prefer a short mediation brief submitted by the parties but if the case has complex legal or factual issues, I will request additional information.  I engage in pre-mediation conferences with the parties' counsel for all of my mediations so that I am fully up to speed on the factual and legal issues as well as personality issues before the mediation begins.

For Court mediations as a panelist, I charge $450 per hour after the proscribed free/reduced mediation period.  For my private mediations, I charge parties with my daily rates.  
Regardless, I work with the parties on my rates and I am willing to work on a reduced rate if the parties have financial issues that  preclude them from the ability to pay my full rate.
