My mediation approach is generally a flexible combination of facilitative and evaluative measures, depending on the parties and the nature of the dispute. Participants appreciate my tenacity, empathetic and diplomatic nature, and creative solutions.
Parties should submit their mediation briefs at least one week before the mediation date. Briefs should be candid and include, at a minimum, descriptions of key evidence (including key deposition excerpts), and prior settlement negotiations. The parties' counsel are also encouraged to circulate a draft long-form agreement in advance so that the parties may begin thinking about potential settlement terms and the ultimate form of a final agreement. I also prefer to meet in advance at least once with each party for a pre-mediation conference.
Rate Per Hour: $660
Rate Per Half Day: $4000
Rate Per Day: $6600
For court-ordered mediations, I offer a reduced hourly rate of $600 per hour divided evenly among the parties, and will also consider sliding-scale rates on a case-by-case basis.
I am very comfortable with virtual mediation (and able to educate parties in how to use it) and am able to serve as a virtual mediator (in fact, I usually prefer it). I am also willing to appear for in-person mediations (when permitted by Covid-19 regulations).
